Rapides Parish Library

The Rapides Parish Library is a medium-size public library, serving Rapides Parish (county) located in central Louisiana. The library consists of a Main Library, 5 urban branches, 4 rural branches, a bookmobile, a van service to the homebound and a van service to child development centers.

Mission:

The mission of the Rapides Parish Library is to promote lifelong learning, enhanced quality of life, and literacy through print, audiovisual and electronic resources. The Library staff ensures that all citizens receive the maximum value from available informational, educational, cultural and recreational resources. 

We are an informational highway for the community to access reading and learning materials for pleasure as well as educational purposes. We provide programs and activities for adults, teens, and children throughout the year. The library hosts a  Back to School Supplies program for the first 500 children on an annual basis.

It is our responsibility to ensure that our community has access to any resources that the Rapides Parish Library has to offer to increase learning and knowledge in all areas of their lives.
